A delightful ceremony, family groups wedding photo completed and a chance to get a fabulous photo of Patricia from the balcony above and it was time for the tractors to play their part again.
David called to Patricia’s home to catch the ladies as they put finishing touches to hair and make-up before heading down the down to meet Seán and the lads. It’s a tough call to out-do a bride for wedding photographs but Seán may just have pulled it off! Four BIG-SHINY-NEW-BLUE TRACTORS were all lined up and bedecked with ribbons for Seán his best man and groomsmen to drive to the church in Ballisodare.
David captured the coolest of wedding photos of the lads (in their flat caps) and their tractors as they came across fields and down a bóithrín with hedges just skimming the immaculate new tyres as they rolled past. But back to the girls: wellies full of flowers, bicycles baskets busting with blooms and a beautiful garden all added to the wedding photos before Patricia made her way to St.Brigid’s Church in Ballisodare.

Wonderfully successful regenerative design has made St.Brigid’s a bright, contemporary space with strong contextual ties to its original structure. Arching glulam timbers echo the design of the ecclesiastical past while an increase in glazing floods the interiors in light. A glass balustrade brings strong connection for those seated above on the balcony. Specially made white steps helped the ladies mount up into the cabs and it was away with the wedding party. The next set of wedding photographs will make for some of the wedding albums spreads of the year. Four big blue tractors with eight members of the wedding party along the shore of Sligo Bay with Knocknarea beyond…. Fantastic wedding photography out in the Irish landscape! A brief stop at Patricia’s grandmother’s home place for a few wedding photos of just herself and Seán and then it was time to head for the Sligo Park Hotel.
