The day started like this … What a Day! What a dress! What amazing Fun! … and it got better and better.
What a day for wedding photography! Just sometimes Ireland offers up the perfect weather for a couple to get married. Under incredibly azure blue skies with not a breath of wind the third day of June 2016 was a most magical day for wedding photos. Checking in with John and the guys as they got ready set the wonderful humorous tone for the whole weekend. John let us into a secret afterwards: his namesake John, the barman, took one look at their ties and offered his assistance in creating perfect Windsor knots. That is the wonderful thing about Kilronan Castle…the staff are so experienced and happy to help. Service at its very best!
Upstairs, in the Bridal Suite, Niamh had added beautiful personal touches to the room. Not an easy thing to do in such a stunningly opulent space but every wedding photo in the bridal suite had a little bit of something special peeking out in the background. The day started like this … What a Day! What a dress! What amazing Fun! … and it got better and better.

Extraordinary Wedding Photography with Fabulous Fireworks.
A short and pretty drive along the shores of Lough Meelagh brought Niamh and John to the church in Keadue. It is a great church for wedding photography with a carved stone entrance, an aisle both long and wide, generous space around the altar and excellent light for the camera. After the church, photos were planned for the eastern shore of Lough Meelagh which is very easy to access and is fantastic for wedding photographs. As Niamh, John and their wedding party walked out along the jetty the water was so smooth that they were reflected back perfectly by the mirrored surface beyond while the lush greens of the Irish landscape swept down the valley to the textured edges of the reedy shore. An excellent wedding photo location and an opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of those they had chosen to have in their wedding party. But so much was still to come! Favourite wedding photos of the day were to the side of Kilronan Castle strolling beneath the huge rhododendrons. Dramatic colour and texture combined with interesting shadows created by late afternoon light gave Niamh and John fabulous photos for their wedding album. Ice sculptures, Fairy Light dance floor and Sparklers all added another dimension to the wedding photos. Niamh’s attention to detail shone through with even the extra attention given to the drapes behind the top table making for amazing photos. The Grand Finale for couple’s wedding photos was the FIREWORKS! A dark navy blue velvety sky exploding with colour. David captured the most romantic wedding photographs as Niamh and John stood together on the hillside, beneath the castle, as bursts of beauty perforated the stillness. A totally magical end to an extraordinary day of photography capturing every moment for everyone to treasure.
