There is something very special about travelling by horse and carriage on your wedding day.
Big bay windows brought in lots of light as Irish wedding photographer David Knight began capturing the story of Lorraine and Luke’s wedding day. Lorraine wore a dress of deep cut lace and carried a heritage bouquet by La Belle Fleur. These gorgeous bouquets literally will last forever and offer an opportunity to add very special mementoes of one’s own. The bridesmaids wore simple, elegant dresses of strong cerise pink. An open Landau carriage, drawn by a fine bay horse arrived to take Lorraine and her dad to Drumeela Church. What a delightful pace at which to travel to your wedding and what a dramatic arrival as one dismounts from the wedding carriage.
David had travelled ahead and taken photos of Luke and his family before the clip, clop of the horse’s hooves could be heard coming up the road. A full church greeted Lorraine and she made her way up the aisle to her husband to be. Following their ceremony the weather held for family group wedding photos on the steps in front of the church. Steep, wide steps are a wonderful location for larger group photos allowing everyone to be seen.

A little more horse power was involved in Lorraine and Luke’s journey to Lough Rynn as they enjoyed the luxury of a Roll Royce followed close behind by the wedding party in a stretched limo. Light rain welcomed the couple to Lough Rynn but skies looked promising as the wedding party made their way towards the terraced walled gardens. Fun with umbrellas can make for wonderful wedding photographs and as usual it soon dried and the gardens were there to be played with. The stunning stone steps leading to the lower terrace are framed by tall limestone walls and make a perfect location for brides to show off their dress. Whether letting the train tumble down from step to step or sitting with the dress all spread out around this magical spot at Lough Rynn can change from casual to formal in seconds and hold real opportunity for a creative wedding photographer.
The Baronial Hall at Lough Rynn is always a favourite with a couple getting married. The stunning oak panelling, ornate ceilings and deep mullioned windows all in a delightful human scale create a photo location that is unmatched in the North West of Ireland. And that is without even mentioning the magnificent fireplace. Wedding photos in the Baronial Hall are always a favourite choice for couple when selecting for their wedding album.
