Irish Wedding Photographer David Knight was in Dublin on the 30th of May to shoot Laura and Edward’s day of celebrations. Meeting with Laura as her home place in Mount Anville as all the preparations were coming together. ‘Pretty in Pink’ the bridesmaids were gorgeous in the palest of pinks with Emma, Laura’s flower girl, following in theme with matching ribbon over white. All the fun of the morning was captured in the wedding photos before leaving for the city centre and Trinity College Chapel. David travelled ahead to meet with Edward on the steps of the chapel.
Trinity College Chapel is a stunning location for wedding photography with broad stone steps leading under four majestic Corinthian columns. The building designed by Sir William Chambers and built in 1798 mirrors the Examinations Hall directly across the Quadrangle. The aisle in Trinity is one of the most spectacular in the country and unusually guest sit facing the aisle affording the best of views and also give the photographer wonderful access. Richly decorative tiled floors led from the front of the building right up to the altar and glorious stained glass shine warm light above high oak panelling. Trinity College is a unique setting that offers fabulous wedding photographs.
As guests mingled in the quadrangle following the ceremony there was lots of opportunity for social and personal photos of everyone before they made their way up to St. Stephens Green and the Shelbourne Hotel. Probably the most famous of all Irish Hotel entrances though it leads directly off the pavement it transports one to another world. The luxury of the décor is delicious with classical arches and sweeping high windows and colour tones kept subtle and warm. Many settings within the hotel allow for great wedding photos whether groups of friends or just the couple themselves. The 30th May was a day of exquisite elegance throughout and a real pleasure to photograph with many fine possibilities for an extra special wedding album.
