Kathy McHugh & John Kenny–Wedding Photography

A wedding day beginning at Kilronan Castle is one of relaxed luxury and pampering. Preparations in the Bridal Suite are a delight to photograph with deep reds and gold in luscious velvets and satins setting the backdrop. Kathy wore a gorgeous dress of beaded bodice over a soft flowing silk chiffon skirt while her bridesmaids wore delicate blushed pink. John and his family were also staying at Kilronan allowing David to capture wonderful photos in the grounds surrounding the castle. A pretty five minute drive along the shores of Lough Meelagh brought them to their church in Keadue. The ladies were preceded up the aisle by two of the cutest flower girls of 2016. The church looked spectacular decorated by La Belle Fleur with their fabulous cherry blossom trees at either end of the aisle. Just enough to delight and not over power the space or the arrival of the bride.

Wedding Photos at Lough Meelagh & Kilronan Castle

Stopping off at the eastern shore of Lough Meelagh offered Kathy and John a stunning backdrop for wedding photographs and also a few minutes out from what is a truly wonderful but busy day. Kilronan Castle peeks above the treeline on the far side of the lake keeping the context of the wedding photos very much centred on the Bride & Groom and the Castle. Once back at Kilronan Kathy and John chose to use many of the extraordinary locations within the castle. The Wine Cellar, in the Dungeon Bar, is very atmospheric with candles set out in the shape of a heart on the floor. The Spa offers another great location with tall pillars creating strong vertical aspect framing the beautiful pool and clever lighting enhancing the surfaces. So many amazing setting to choose from at Kilronan Castle.
