Wedding Photographer David Knight arrived to a busy household on 23rd May 2015. Kate and her four bridesmaids were ready to dress as David shot photos of all the wonderful details that Kate had collected together for her wedding day. From fun to vintage with cool invitations on brown parchment and personalised hip flasks there was lots of interest within the wedding photos. Beautiful cream lace with a big, soft satin bow and full length veil were delightful to photograph.
With family there to see her off, Kate travelled in an early ‘70’s vintage Jaguar with deep red leather upholstery. The patina of vintage red leather is always an added warmth and cheer to wedding car photographs.
David had arrived ahead of Kate to St.Osnat’s, Glencar where Matt and his brother awaited. Matt’s parents then joined them for family wedding photos before the bride arrived. St.Osnat’s has delightful simplicity and charm and a warm and heartfelt ceremony followed. Lovely light fell around the altar and offered a perfect location for the family group wedding photos before Kate and Matt headed away to Markree Castle.
Wedding photography opportunities at Markree Castle are magnificent. The approach, just as one gets their first glimpse of the Castle is one of the most spectacular views. Crenelated walls, sweeping stone staircases and stunning mullioned windows all create fabulous backdrops for wedding photographs. And that is just the exterior of the Castle. The grounds offer gentle wooded areas for more casual wedding photo locations before moving into the remarkable interiors. Markree Castle has two extraordinary staircases, a long vaulted one leading up from the entrance and then the butterfly staircase leading to the main bedrooms which has famous stained glass on the first landing. Staircases and wedding dresses are so much fun, the rise of the steps allow the full length of a dress to show itself off and whether sitting or standing there is always great wedding photos to be had. With so many fabulous wedding photographs a wedding album will be a real treasure trove of memories.
Kate and Matt had brought together lots of individuality to their table setting with vintage books, teacups and delicate floral arrangements and a toy glider for each of their guests. An on trend ‘naked cake’ topped everything off in making the day very much their own.
