………captured really atmospheric wedding photos, playing with the light to also get romantic silhouette shots
Some winter days are just perfect for a wedding and the 30th December 2017 was definitely one. Our photographer Jim Schofield was photographer for Josephine and Brian’s special day. With the couple back from Australia there were great celebrations were underway at Josephine’s house. Josephine’s elegant A-line gown of duchess satin was so beautifully simple with a stunning back cut square to a high waistline and delicate buttons all the way to the hem. Over this she wore the most gorgeous high neck lace cape. A fabulous combination offset by a seasonal bouquet in deep, vibrant reds and blue-green foliage. This was one of the stand-out wedding dresses of the year and just a delight to photograph. Brian and the guys met with Jim at St Patrick’s church, Corlough. With quite a lot of yellow in the church the guys navy suits and the bridesmaid’s cobalt blue dresses looked terrific.

Wedding Photography at the Slieve Russell Hotel.
On the journey towards the Slieve Russell hotel Josephine and Brian pulled in at Brackley Lake for wedding photos. Perfectly timed the sun was just dropping below the horizon on the far side of the water. These are magic moments in wedding photography and in winter you have to be quick as the light falls fast. But Jim captured really atmospheric wedding photos, playing with the light to also get romantic silhouette shots. The Slieve Russell looked extra special dressed for the festive season, amazing Christmas trees and even the garden where gazebos and walkways twinkled with fairy-lights. And around one corner …. A helicopter! But finally the was no more lit to play with and there were guests to relax and mingle with before everyone sat to enjoy the splendour to the cuisine the Slieve Russell offers.
