Straight tall trunks were accentuated by shafts of warm sunbeams
piercing the bright young beech canopy and creating an ethereal wonderland.
The camera was spoilt for choice as Cathy and Alan’s wedding photography got underway on the 27th May. At Cathy’s home dark wooden panelling made for an excellent backdrop for the ladies as they put final touches to their preparations. But it was the stunning view of Knocknarea from the garden that ensured great family photos in a perfect and contextual setting. Cathy and Alan were married at St.Patrick’s Church in Strandhill. This is a delightful church with pale tiled floor reflecting light into an elegant space of muted tones of warm browns and gold. Very clever recessed lighting gently reflects of the golden elements creating a very special atmosphere. It is a very successful marrying of traditional and modern craftsmanship and design.

Seashore and Woodland Wedding Photography.
Alan and Cathy choose to go to both Strandhill and to Hazelwood and though it took a little bit more time it was definitely worth it for the fabulous wedding photos they have. At Strandhill the tide was quite far out and sometimes this can make it flat and uninteresting but not this day. The sunlight playing on the trapped puddles of water and the meandering shapes created by the waning tide laid out incredible patterns below the rising slopes of Knocknarea. On to Hazelwood where the avenue in through the tall beech trees offered up a magical setting. Tall straight trunks were accentuated by shafts of warm sunbeams piercing the bright young beech canopy and forming an ethereal wonderland. Even down along the shore of Lough Gill extra elements made for extraordinary wedding photographs as a wooden row boat was perfectly positioned at the water’s edge. The wedding photos taken at Hazelwood will make for truly enchanting wedding album pages. The Radisson Blu, Sligo awaited and the couple were welcomed by all their guests enjoying the view of Sligo Bay from the hotel’s terrace. One final touch to the day of wedding photography was a simple but clever one. Alan and Cathy had chosen to have their ‘top table’ in a horseshoe shape which meant not only did it allow for more interesting photos but made for lots of fun and inclusiveness for the wedding party.
