Wet weather did not dampen the spirits as Cathy made her way up the step of St Patrick’s church in Mohill.
Both bride and groom stayed in the grounds of Lough Rynn on the eve of their wedding on 20th November 2015. The luxury and comfort of staying at the hotel the night before their wedding also afforded their wedding photographer David Knight lots of times with both parties prior to the ceremony.
Laughter rang though-out the preparations and stunning B&W portraiture was captured along the way. Being able to move back and forth between the couple creates much more equality in the wedding photos. Wet weather did not dampen the spirits as Cathy made her way up the step of St Patrick’s church in Mohill. Her dress gathered up and help from her brother saw her come through the door with the biggest smile. A ceremony full of good humour, great music and delightful emotion followed with all the magical moments safely treasured in Cathy and Robert’s wedding photographs.

As the ceremony was ending brighter light began to stream through the windows flooding the church with an amazing atmosphere. St Patricks in Mohill is a wonderful church for wedding photography and the low winter light was just perfectly timed for wedding photos of the bride and groom before they made their way back to Lough Rynn Castle. A fabulous red carpet and champagne welcome greeted the wedding party and, as evening was starting to draw in, the buggy was to hand to bring them down to the walled gardens. No matter what time of year Lough Rynn offer the very best of wedding photo opportunities.
The gardens are designed to hold greenery throughout the year and the gateways, steps, turret and glasshouses all create fantastic framing for photographs. With dusk falling the gardens and castle take on a fairy-tale quality with interior lights twinkling out through deep mullioned windows and high arched doorways. Cathy and Robert have spectacular wedding photos to choose from for their wedding album as Lough Rynn lived up to and surpassed its promise of being one of the very best wedding venues in Ireland. And the amazing luxurious interiors were yet to come!
