There is a bit of magic about winter weddings that is missed at other times of the year.
A house full of photos greeted our wedding photographer Jim Schofield on the 24th November. The ladies had everything well underway. Olivia wore a beautiful elegant satin gown with a cool bustle creating a gorgeous silhouette. A beaded neckline was picked up again with subtle detail at the waist. Her bridesmaids wore cobalt blue and all carried matching bouquets of ivory roses. The two flower-girls carried cute butterfly wands. Joe and the guys wore Navy blue suits with silver waistcoats and ties, very dapper. Olivia and Joe’s wonderful wedding party of eight adults, two flower-girls and three pageboys made for fabulous wedding photos. It was blue skies to welcome everyone to the church in Curry for their wedding ceremony.

Wedding Photos at the Sligo Park Hotel
With a charming ceremony and family groups wedding photos all captured it was time to make their way to the Sligo Park Hotel. Dusk was well established when Olivia and Joe arrived to Sligo and late afternoon was even a little damp. But they were well prepared with the best umbrellas we saw all year. White scalloped for the bride and really pretty navy blue with a delicate white scalloped edge for the bridesmaids. Umbrellas are a sometimes needed accessory that played a great part in the wedding photography for what would otherwise have been a hurried entrance. The entrance to the Sligo Park is modern and angular with steps approaching the front door. In contrast Jim’s use of flash brought out the gorgeous texture of Olivia’s dress and contrasting fur cape. There is a bit of magic about winter weddings that is missed at other times of the year.
