Still water mirroring the surrounding landscape and the resident pair of swans completed the magical wedding photo location.
Carol and Maurice celebrated their wedding on the most beautiful spring day at Kilronan Castle. The ladies enjoyed a relaxing morning staying in one of the excellent houses on the estate. A great choice that allows space for family and the Bridal party to enjoy the preparations together while keeping the luxury and services of the hotel too hand. Carol’s chose beautiful bouquets of hydrangeas with delicate blue edges accompanied with ivory roses for her bridesmaids and soft pink and ivory roses for herself. With both bride and groom at Kilronan there was lots of opportunity for pre-ceremony photos. David caught up with Maurice and his groomsmen for a quick glass in the elegant drawing room but with the incredible weather on the day it did not take long for the guys to head outside to the cars. Carol and Maurice had chosen a classic black Rolls Royce which proved to be the perfect accessory for the guys Black Tie. In a touch of the special agent, Maurice looked wonderful in a white dinner jacket. Individual and elegant touches to a fabulous day! The short scenic drive from the hotel to the church in Keadue is one of the most attractive in the country with nearly half the journey along the delightful avenue of the castle itself.

Wedding Photos @ Lough Meelagh and Kilronan Castle Estate
The Church in Keadue sits slightly above the village with lots of mature trees around. It offers one of the loveliest views of the bride as she comes up the aisle with a lush green backdrop to be seen beyond the door. Even though it is only a four minute drive back to the castle there is a fabulous photo location on the way. At the eastern end of Lough Meelagh and with Kilronan Castle in view across the lake there is easy access and a floating walkway out into the water. The late afternoon sunshine on the deep reed beds gave the edges of the lake a golden shimmer as the green fields above sweep up to the high tree line. Still water mirroring the surrounding landscape and the resident pair of swans completed the magical wedding photo location.
Late March and into April the rhododendrons at Kilronan are in bloom, tall and majestic they have staked their claim to the lawns outside the drawing room for many years. Bending and twisting the beautifully coloured trunks are topped with masses of deep pink to blossoms.
Maurice, Carol and their guests made the most of the sunshine and gathered for drinks on the terrace outside the Dungeon Bar where the high banks create incredible shelter. There are not many outdoor locations in Ireland where in March you can sit and enjoy a celebratory drink in such comfort. Interiors at Kilronan Castle are incredible for wedding photography and as guests were sitting for dinner Maurice, Carol and David made use of the dramatic staircase and high balcony for some very special romantic photographs. Then a beautiful, candle lit journey as the couple made their way down to the Grand Ballroom and a final chance to capture enchanting photos before Maurice and Carol entered the Grand Ballroom and the evening of celebration began.
