‘WOW’ lots of unique and wonderful details for the camera to capture on Anita and Colm’s wedding day.
County colours and custom signposting announced the location of the Bride and Groom. Close proximity allowed wedding photographer David Knight to work back and forth between both parties as they prepared for their wedding celebrations. Lots of fun and laughter spilled out of each of the houses. At Anita’s a lovely old bike, with a basket busting with flowers, had been set up against a stone cottage with bright red windows creating a super location for wedding photos before leaving home. The boys were enjoying a pint of Guinness from their very own barrel set up in the shed before suits were donned and the business of the day approached.
Anita’s dress was displayed on a mannequin setting it up beautifully for the wedding photography, a really wonderful touch. The coolest cars brought each of them to the Sacred Heart Church in Roscommon Town. Anita travelled in a stunning vintage Citroen while Colm made his way in an immaculate ‘vintage’ Ford Escort. The Sacred Heart Church in Roscommon is a magnificent building, highly decorated with gilding and mosaic pictorial imagery. A splendid long aisle affords a bride a real sense of journey as she makes her way to her ‘about to be’ husband. The stunning interior creates a fabulous backdrop for the wedding photography during the ceremony and after for Family photos.

Anita and Colm choose to keep lots of context in their wedding day photography and travelled back towards their home places for some great shots. Strolling along the road they have both known all their lives delivered a uniquely casual setting while a stone bridge with high arch above offered a light touch of formality and change of texture. But the best was yet to come! A huge Teddy Bear made with round and square bales of hay had been constructed by Colm. It must have stood 16 -18ft high and had its very own dickie bow and tuxedo. An absolutely brilliant and wonderful surprise.
At The Abbey Hotel the gardens were bathed in sunlight where the stone steps offered the perfect location for a group photo of the ladies. A sweet cart, all created in pink, and a panel of framed photo’s telling Anita and Colm’s story added even more personal touches to what was an extraordinary wedding day. So much to choose from for their wedding album as the photography for the day came to a close with photos taken in the bridal suite.
