Kim had chosen the season’s favourite colour, lilac for the bridesmaids and a gown of delightfully simple elegance with diagonal pleating loosening into the skirt.
Always extra fun photographing the wedding of one of our own. Bringing a great wedding co-ordinator together with one of Ireland’s best wedding photographers this was always going to be a wonderful day. Kim and the girls were having a great morning as David arrived, the last touches to hair and make-up were underway and dresses were ready to go. Kim had chosen the season’s favourite colour, lilac for the bridesmaids and a gown of delightfully simple elegance with diagonal pleating loosening into the skirt. Her long dark hair was swept to tumble over one shoulder creating a delightful silhouette throughout the day in the wedding photos. With family wedding photographs completed Kim had only the briefest of journeys to where Paul awaited.

Kim and Paul were married in Strandhill Church, Co.Sligo. A fine tall church with good light and a really attractive altar beautifully crafted pieces. A charming ceremony was followed by family wedding photos and then Kim and Paul, with their wedding party, ventured down to the beach. The tide was just coming full and Atlantic waters came to the edge of the slipway. The stunning expansive of Sligo bay offers an incredible backdrop for couple wedding photography and as Kim and Paul strolled towards the beach the textures and tones merge leading the eyes from high sand dune above to the deep pebbled beach below. A quick pint at The Strand and everyone was on their way towards Castledargan.
What a welcome! But some more important wedding photos to capture of the wedding party as they strolled over the lawns to the front of the main house. The function room at Castledargan is one of the brightest around with sweeping views out over the grounds. A great night of celebration was ahead as David said his good-byes and Kim and Paul joined their guests for dinner.
Guests were greeted with delicious ice-cream from a 1921 Ice Cream Bike from HighNelly services, a wonderful surprise and a great prop for the couples wedding photographs. For very special wedding photos the wedding party stopped in at the shore of Lough Meelagh where the water had just the faintest hint of a ripple and reflected images shimmered off the surface. Back to Kilronan Castle a magnificent backdrop in its own right, David suggested Karl and Emer stroll down under the copse of mature rhododendron. Twisting red trunks create interesting textures and unusual warmth images which sit fabulously in wedding albums. So many exceptional locations to choose from at Kilronan Castle, the French salon style of the Robert Genders room or the high wooden ceiling with spectacular chandelier high above reception, deep arched mullion windows and the awesome luxury of the bridal suite all help make for exceptional wedding photography.
